Styles and Smiles Fashion Show

I had a fabulous time on Sunday September 25th with the other ladies of the Massachusetts Dental Society modeling for the Styles and Smiles Fashion Show. The event took place at the Boston University Castle, which was just gorgeous inside. We wore two different outfits from Lyn Evan Potpourri Design and finished up the show in scrubs and clogs.
Attendees were all member from the Massachusetts Dental Society. When they arrived they enjoyed a cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar, followed up by a buffet style dinner. After everyone enjoyed their meals the real entertainment started with the fashion show.
All proceeds from this event went to rebuilding the smiles of abused women.

25th Anniversary of Mrs. United States

On August 3rd and 4th I had the opportunity to attend the 25th Anniversary of the Mrs United States Pageant held at the Hilton Resort in Las Vegas. I was there to cheer on our New England States Massachusetts and New Hampshire, represented by Courtney Nappa and Nikol Lauze respectively. I also had the chance to meet up with some of the women I competed with last year, including our beautiful Mrs. United States Rachel Jullieret. It was a really fun two days.

One change this year was that each delegate wore a state costume. Everyone was so creative in their choices. They also invited all the former Mrs. United States back to perform a special number with Jay Joseph the host. I also really enjoyed the opening number that the contestants performed in their red dresses to Ricky Martin.

We also squeezed in some quality fun time with my husband and step-son, while in Vegas.

Floss Night with the Lowell Spinners

On June 29th, 2011 my husband, step-son, and I headed to the Lowell Spinners game for floss night. It was the first event of this kind sponsored by the Massachusetts Dental Society. As attendees entered the game they received a small packed tooth floss pick. At the fourth inning everyone opened their floss and began to floss their teeth. A world record was set for the most people flossing their teeth at the same time, 3,014 to be exact. Also throughout the game fans participated in dental related activities. They had a spelling bee with dental terms, a race around the bases against Mr. Bristles, a toothbrush mascot, and dental trivia. The Lowell Spinners won that night 3-2 but I think the real winners were the fans who walked away with a little bit more knowledge about their oral health.

Mrs. Massachusetts and Mrs. New Hampshire United States Pageant 2011

On April 9th, 2011 we crowned Courtney Nappa as Mrs. Massachusetts United States 2011 and Nikoll Lauze as Mrs. New Hampshire United States 2011 at the Amato Theater in Milford, NH. Irene Raissis Alton the states director put on a fabulous show. All the contestants looked beautiful. The opening number to Enrique Iglesia was a huge hit. The contestants all wore red cocktail dresses, that really looked sharp up on the stage.

I performed a variation from "Stars and Stripes" en pointe. The number was choreographed by Vanessa Voter Shaheen the director of Methuen Ballet Ensemble.

I loved being able to spend the day with old friends and to make some new friends. I met the reigning Mrs. Connecticut United States, Kathleen M. Gneiting, Mrs. Connecticut United States 2008, Lynette Letsky Piombo, and Laurye Koseski Natale, Mrs. Vermont United States 2009. They were all wonderful ladies and I was honored to spend the day with them.

Farwell Address

Approximately one year ago the honor was bestowed upon me to represent the married women of Massachusetts. As I fulfilled my role, the experience of representing the married women led me to many avenues and the acquaintances of many people that will now and forever encompass my life. The 2010 Mrs. United States class are all remarkable women who I am proud to be a part of. Throughout the year I was able to educate people about the importance of their oral health to their overall health. Opportunities also arose for me to work with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the American Cancer Society.

I would like to send out several recognitions. First to my amazing state director Irene Raissis Alton your advice, guidance, positive commentary, and enthusiasm was just what I needed at Nationals. Jane Marshall, Mrs. Massachusetts International 2011, thank you for sharing your year with me. I feel so lucky to have been able to attend so many appearances with you. To my family thank you for all of your encouraging words. James, my husband, you are an amazing person you will always be my rock and support in everything that I do. Vanessa and Ashley you have remained my biggest fans through this reign and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I believe that my ballet training at Voter's School of Dance gave me the confidence and poise I needed to earn this opportunity. Finally to my mom, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have taught me to go after my goals and if I do I will always be successful. Thank you too for being my personal seamstress. Your expert hand at sewing provided me with the most perfectly fitted gown and well adorned bathing suit for Nationals. I love you and thank you again.

To Courtney Nappa, our new Mrs. Massachusetts United States!!!! Remember to always be true to yourself. Enjoy your reign and do everything you can while opportunity presents. This will be a time in you life you will treasure always. Congratulations and best wishes to you.

Pearls of Wisdom Night

On Thursday March 25th I attended Presentation of Mary Academy's Pearls of Wisdom night as their guest speaker. I graduated from PMA in 1997 and it was great to go back and see some of my former teachers and all the changes that were made to the school. The event took place in the library which used to be the old gymnasium. They have since built a new gym named after my principal Sister Rosemarie Dupre, who had passed away from cancer several years ago.

Paula Liberte, the event coordinator, had called back several alumni to adopt a little sister from the 2011 graduating class. Each one of us got up with our little sister and gave them some brief words of advice. My little sister Leah was a remarkable young lady. She is planning to attend college and major in psychology, she has her college choices narrowed down to two schools, Endicott, or Umass Amherst. My pearls of wisdom to Leah was that: "life is not measured in the breaths we take but by the moments that take your breath away." Afterwards we all enjoyed refreshments, a truly enjoyable experience.

Oral Health Presentation at the Nesmith Library

Yesterday, March 21st, I had the best time speaking with a group of home schooled children, ranging in age from 5 to 10, at the Nesmith Library in Windham, NH. We started out with a little presentation about what oral health was, how to keep our teeth healthy, what a healthy diet was, and the different parts of the teeth. I have to admit I think some of this was a bit much for the 5 year olds to absorb however when I broke out the puppet they loved this. The puppet, who the children named Mr. Buggy, was a great teaching aid to show the children where to brush and how to brush. A lot of the children were surprised to find out that we should also brush our tongues. We then read some stories about going to the dentist and what to expect. Afterwards I answered questions for the children. I have to say my favorite question of the morning was: Are you the Queen of Massachusetts? To which I replied in a sense I am one of the Massachusetts Queens. All the children were wonderful, inquisitive, and very well behaved.

Read Along at the Library

On Monday, February 22nd I went to the Nevins Memorial Library in Methuen, MA to read to the children stories about going to the dentist and taking care of their teeth. The first story was about an alligator with a loose tooth. He went with his friends to see the dentist to make sure his teeth were ok, turns out his tooth was supposed to be loose because an adult tooth was taking its place. The second story was about a little boy who was afraid to see the dentist because his friend had scared him by showing him all of his fillings. The boy had brought along his play dinosaurs and after the dentist checked the dinosaurs teeth first he wasn't scared to have his checked. Once we were done reading we did an art project with decoupage. We took recycled plastic water bottled that were cut down and made toothbrush holders. The children took glue and placed all different colored tissue paper on the outside to decorate them, it was a fun time had by all!

New Hampshire Bridal Magazine Fashion Show Take 2

On February 13th the day before Valentine's Day I joined my pageant sisters at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua, NH for another fun filled day of wedding fashion. We had such a good time, I could really get used to being a bride every weekend. Who doesn't love dressing up in a wedding gown and fancy bride's Maid dresses. We had four different outfits to change into all of them gorgeous. Everyone looked amazing. Our hair and makeup was also done prior to us modeling. Halfway through the show my director Irene Alton, and Jane Marshall Mrs. MA International spoke about how to look your best in photographs, then we did some line dances with the DJ they had there. I would definitely do this again.

Lesson on Oral Health with Methuen, MA Daisy Troop

On February 7th I spoke with the Daisy Troop of Methuen, MA at the Nevin Memorial Library about how they can take care of their teeth. We discussed many topics including why our teeth are important (we need them for chewing, talking, smiling, and to save the space for our adult teeth). We also reviewed healthy snack vs unhealthy snacks and when and how we should brush our teeth. I then read a story about Lemony Lion, who couldn't be king of the jungle anymore because he lost all his teeth. The session ended with a question and answer time. I was delighted to have the girls show me their loose teeth, and tell me all about how they brush. They also had lots of questions about being Mrs. Massachusetts and how to become a dentist. I had a wonderful time and look forward to more events like this.

February is Children's Dental Health Month

This is the perfect month for me to inform everyone about the importance of their oral health to their overall health. February is Children's Dental Health month but its a great time for all of us to make sure that we are on track with our oral health care. I will be making several appearance this month to discuss the importance of oral health to our school aged children.

Did you know that the number one childhood disease is tooth caries (AKA cavities)? Did you also know that it is preventable? Yes that's right a cavity is not a right of passage, it is something that never has to happen if proper preventable treatment is implemented. A good start is making sure that a child's first visit to a dentist should happen when they are 1years old. The old philosophy used to be that we should wait until they are 3 but studies have shown that this may be too late. Some children's teeth have already started to decay by the time the child is 3. So moms and dads out there get your children to the dentist early, but its never too late.

Another important fact to remember is that sugar that is in contact with the bacteria in our mouths for a long period of time will lead to decay. If you are going to have a food or beverage that is high in sugar it is best to eat or drink it over a very short period of time, rather then savor it throughout the day. Have the juice, or soda, or cake at one sitting. The longer the sugar is in contact with our teeth the odds of creating a carious leison increases exponentially.

One of my favorite preventative measures that I like to suggest is to chew gum. Not just any gum though it must contain the ingredient Xylitol, and to be truly affective Xylitol should be the first ingredient. Studies have shown that Xylitol kills the bacteria Strep Mutan which is linked to tooth decay. Chewing gum also increases salivary flow another way the body naturally cleans the teeth.

Your dentist should be able to recommend several preventive measures that you can do to prevent cavities for yourself and your children. Be sure to visit him or her every six months. Happy brushing and flossing everyone.

Mrs New Hampshire America Pageant 2011

On January 30th, 2011 I watched the beautiful Kassie Dubois be crowned as the next Mrs. New Hampshire America. All the contestants worked hard and were all equally beautiful. I'm sure the judges had a difficult time choosing this years winner. What an accomplishment for Kassie to come out on top. Kassie will compete for the title of Mrs. America on Mother's Day in White Sulphur Spring, WV at the Greenbrier.

This also served as a great time for me to meet up with all of my pageant sisters from the past year. Also in attendance was the beautiful Jane Marshall Mrs. Massachusetts International 2010, my wonderful director Mrs. New Hampshire United States 2009 Irene Alton, and the fabulous Jamie Borque Mrs Massachusetts America 2010. It was so much fun to watch this event with all of my new friends that I have made over this past year.

We were also treated to the singing entertainment of the reigning Miss New Hampshire USA 2011 Miss Lacey Jane Folger. She opened the ceremony with the Star Spangled Banner, and later sang I love Rock and Roll. She was a delightful young lady and it was a pleasure meeting her. I wish her all the luck at nationals in Las Vegas.

NH Bridal Magazine Modeling

Last Sunday, January 8th I had the distinct honor of modeling for the New Hampshire Bridal Magazine's bridal show at the Caselton in Windham, NH. With me were Mrs. Massachusetts International 2010, Jane Marshall, my lovely director Irene Alton Mrs. New Hampshire United States 2009, and Kassie Duboise who will be competing for the title of Mrs. New Hampshire America 2011 on January 30th.

The bridesmaid dresses and wedding gowns that we wore were provided by David's Bridal in Nashua, NH. My first dress was a short turquoise bridesmaid dress. I then changed into a David's Bridal full length wedding gown, which was gorgeous. My last change was into a Olga wedding gown, which was off white, had a mermaid skirt and a very long train, definitely my favorite dress.

I also learned a new word that day....Fasinator.... It describes a hair piece worn on the side of the head. Apparently they are all the rage in England. Perhaps Kate Middleton is wearing one now. Irene wore one with her first dress. Very Chic.

Irene and I learned a couple of new line dances. The DJ who was entertaining the crowd had everyone doing the line dances including us models. My favorite was the Cotton Eyed Joe, but we also had fun with the Cha Cha slide.

While modeling a ran into quite a few people I knew. My dental assistant was there with her daughter who will be getting married some time next year. My photographer, Dan Doke, was there as a vendor. I also ran into one of my former Methuen Ballet Ensemble company members Kristen Cheney who will be getting married in the summer of 2012.

It was an exciting day, filled with lots of laughs, and good time memories.

Tyngsboro Middle School

On December 16th I went to the Tyngsboro Middle School and met over a thousand K through 5th graders who made Christmas cards for our Veterans at the Bedford, MA VA hospital. Also in attendance were Jane Marshall, Mrs. Massachusetts International, Jennifer Hardy, Classic Ms. Massachusetts, Kevin Lemenowicz the weather man for Fox 25 news, The Celtic Dancers, Hockey players from the UMass Lowell, and several other local celebrities. After our introductions we had the opportunity to meet the students personally and sign autographs. It was so wonderful to see their excited faces and hear their thank yous for coming to see them.

Unfortunately I had to return to work and could not go to the VA Hospital to deliver the cards. This was a perfectly organized event for such a great cause, and I'm sure it was truely appreciated by all the Veterans. I'd like to say thank you to all the men and women who have served our country and have kept us safe. I hope that you all have a great holiday and happy New Year.

Christmas Tree Lighting

On December 5th 2010 Santa and I lit the Christmas Tree in the downtown area of Methuen, MA, my home town. Before the event there was hot chocolate and cookies that were handed out to all who attended. Carollers from Methuen's Center for Performing Arts entertained us with Christmas songs and we all danced around to keep warm. Once Santa arrived on the fire truck we lit the tree with Mayor Manzi and handed out candy canes to the children. Even though it was cold everyone seemed to really enjoy the festivities, especially yours truely. Santa himself did tell me that it was not as cold as the North Pole. And even though I had never been there I had to agree, for surely Santa would not lie about this. A special congratulations needs to go out to Jill Stacklin who organized the event, she did a fabulous job.

Bra Auction

On November 13th, 2010 I had the honor of attending the Bra Auction at the Billerica, MA library with my friend Mrs. Massachusetts International, Jane Marshall. This event helped to raise money for the Billerica, MA Relay for Life. The event was organized by some of the students from Billerica, who also designed and modeled the bras. It was a wonderful event and a lot of fun. The effort that these young men and women put forth to raise money for such a worthy cause was inspirational.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk

On October 2nd I walked with my hygienist on her son's team for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) walk in Boston. There were ten members of our team and we called ourselves "Justin Time for a Cure". We met at the Boston Common and walked over to the Boston Hatch Shell where the walk began. It was a gorgeous day. The sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in site. We walked along the Charles River. Collectively we raised almost $3000.

My hygienist's son was diagnosed with Type I diabetes about 4 years ago. Type 1 diabetes is a chronic (lifelong) disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin to properly control blood sugar levels. Insulin lowers blood sugar by allowing it to leave the bloodstream and enter cells. Everyone needs insulin. People with type 1 diabetes can't make their own insulin. They must take insulin every day.

Allston Street Fair

On Sunday September 12th I attended the Allston Street Fair in Allston, MA with my sister queens. Those in attendance were Jane Marshall, Mrs. Massachusetts International, Monique Jones, Ms. Massachusetts United States, Tamara Sacharczyk, Miss Massachusetts Teen World, Chritina Polanco, Miss Jr. Massachusetts National Teen, and Amber Anne Coelho, Miss Massachusetts National Teen. We had many photo ops with the different vendors and the patrons attending the fair. It was a great day for all of us to catch up and share stories about our National pageant.

Antique Car Show at the Sunrise Assisted Living

On Saturday August 28th I had a wonderful day with my sister queens Jane Marshall, Mrs. Massachusetts International and Christina Polanco, Miss Teen Massachusetts ANTSO and the residents of Sunrise Assisted Living in Leominster, MA. From 2-4 they had an antique car show at their facility where antique car owners brought their beautifully restored cars out for display.

It was a beautiful warm sunny day to bring the residents around to look at the cars from their era. Many of them reminisced about their youth and growing up. It was great to hear their stories and what it was like in the good old days. I was also fascinated with how wonderfully these car owners restored their vehicles to their original glory. It was an overall great day. I must also congratulate Laurie from the Sunrise Assisted Living who organized the whole day, she did a wonderful job.

July 21st and 22nd I competed in the Mrs. United States National Pageant representing Massachusetts. The pageant was held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Orleans Hotel and Casino. I flew into Las Vegas with my sister queen Rachael Bohac of New Hampshire, my husband James, and step-son James Jr. on July 18th. As it turned out Rachael was also my roommate for the time that we were in Las Vegas.

On Sunday our first day there we had an orientation and dinner giving us an opportunity to meet all of our sister queens and get to know one another. We also received our schedule outlining are very busy coming days. There were so many fabulous women there and I was honored to have met each and everyone of them.

The following days were composed mostly of rehearsals for our opening number, in which we all wore a red dress and performed, and our parade of gowns. Natalie Carson our choreographer was wonderful. I was very impressed at how she was able to put together a production number made up of 53 women with varying dance talents.

They did give us some fun time as well. On Monday night we all went out to the Luxor hotel and attended the musical "Menopause". After the show we met the very talented actresses and also Carrot Top who owns the theater that the show was at.

Tuesday we had our swim suit shoot starting at 6:00 AM. That's right six in the morning. Thank goodness they went by alphabetical order and I didn't have to head down until 7:30. The photographer Joseph Pier was great to work with. He really is one of the best photographers around. Tuesday night we had our interview with the judges. This was a great opportunity for us to let the judges meet us and get to know us a little better.

I'd like to give a special thank you to Lisa McCumber for doing my hair and makeup for the time that I was there. She really was paramount in making me so beautiful. Not only is she very talented, she is as nice as she is talented. It was a pleasure working with her. I also got to know the other three women that she worked with Mrs. Iowa Christine Davis Street, Mrs. West Virginia Kristi Atha-Rader, and Mrs. North Dakota Sarah Bazey, who came in third runner up. Congratulations Sarah you are beautiful inside and out.

Wednesday night was preliminaries in which we all competed in swim suit and evening gown. The following night was finals. The top twelve competitors were selected and competed in, on stage interview, swim suit, and evening gown. Although I didn't make it to top twelve I still feel a sense of personal accomplishment because I know I did my very best. Our new queen was crowned. Congratulations to Rachel Juillerat from Mississippi. I hope you have a great year!

Thank you to all the people who have supported me through this journey. It has been a great experience so far and I truly appreciated all the love and support you have given me. A special thank you to Vanessa and Ashley for coming to Las Vegas with me and cheering me on. You both are very special to me and I love you both. Thank you James, my husband, for loving me for who I am. Irene thank you for being the best director ever. I would not have been able to do this with out you.

Prep time for Nationals

With Nationals fast approaching its amazing everything that needs to be done. I leave in just 4 days for Las Vegas and I feel like I have a hundred things left to do. I have started packing but not everything is in the suitcase yet. Hopefully when that is complete I'll feel a little better. I just got back from the gym after my final session with my personal trainer. Thank you Melanie for helping to get my arms in the best shape I think they've ever been. I still haven't changed the buttons on my interview outfit, guess I'll be sewing at work tomorrow in between patients.
I'm sure my husband is tired of hearing me talk to myself as I prep for my interview, but this is the only way I can feel confident about what I'm saying is if I hear it out loud. Sorry honey, only a little bit longer of this and then we can all relax.
Thank goodness for my director, Irene Alton, she is the best. She spent two and a half hours with me on Saturday helping me to prep for the swim suit and evening gown portion of the competition. I feel so much better about this now that I know some of the tricks of the trade when it comes to walking and posing. I've been practicing everything that she has shown me at the dance studio. Well I best be off as I finish up a few more things before I get some rest.

I have had the most eventful fourth of July. My festivities started at the Methuen fireworks display, on July 2nd. I greeted our residents and handout balloons to the children with our district state rep Linda Dean Cambell. Then I watched the fireworks with my husband and listened to the band they had playing. It was by far one of the best fireworks displays Methuen has ever put on.

Then on the fourth I went to my sister Teresa's Fourth of July party at her house in Hopkington, MA. It was great to see the rest of my family and spend some much needed time with them. Some of my brothers and sisters I haven't seen since winning my title and it was great to be able to show off my crown and banner, which was a huge hit with the kids.

Finally on the fifth I attended Chelmsford's County Fair and helped my friend Maureen to raise money for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer which she is participating in down in North Carolina. We had a rubber ducky adoption along with several raffles set up which were mostly donations from local restaurants. My friend Jane Marshall, Mrs Massachusetts International, rode in their parade atop a 2011 Ford Mustang. Also in attendance was Senator Scott Brown.

Now in this 100 degree weather, as my temperature gage is reading, I am relaxing in my pool with my husband and step son trying to keep cool.

Happy Independence Day America! I am proud to be a citizen of a free and Independent Nation.

On June 27th 2010 I attended the Mrs. Massachusetts America pageant in Newton, MA with Mrs Massachusetts International Jane Marshall. It was great to see the crowning of another Mrs. Massachusetts. I can't wait to continue my journey with our new queen. Congratulations Jamie Leigh on your title! I have met so many wonderful people along the way.
During the pageant we were introduced as visiting queen and I even had the opportunity to speak a little about myself and my platform. This impromptu speaking opportunity was certainly helpful in preparing me for Nationals in July.

On June 13th, 2010 Heather Merrill was crowned this years Mrs. New Hampshire America. Congratulations to her!!! I am so glad that I was able to be there for this event. I met Heather when we competed together at the Mrs. Massachusetts and Mrs. New Hampshire United States Pageant in April. Heather is a remarkable woman, with many accomplishments in her life. Relay for Life Tyngsboro, MA

On June 12th and 13th I participated in the Relay for Life in Tyngsboro, MA. My team (Queen's for Relay) raised over $1040 for the American Cancer Society. Thank you Jane Marshall, Mrs. Massachusetts International, for asking me to be a part of this team. This was a truly memorable event.

I will not forget Jane and I trying to put our tent up in the rain. Unfortunately neither of us had ever put up a tent, but being two intelligent woman we figured how hard could it be. It's actually harder then it looks. We struggled for awhile, until these nice young men came over and helped us. Thank goodness or else we may still have been there putting it up.

The luminaria ceremony was especially touching as we remembered the people who had cancer. For me thinking about my dad and what he went through, and then what we were doing there, made me hopeful that no one else would have to suffer as he did.

I met a lot of wonderful people that day: Shauna Conwell, Miss ANTSO New Hampshire Miss, Maureen Polson , Lisamarie Forte, Dana Matthews, and Brianna Mccombs (my team mates), and Brooke Bibeault Miss Massachusetts teen USA who came out to support us. Thank you to all for what you have done to help support the American Cancer Society.

Relay for Life in Methuen

On June 5th I had the opportunity to attend the Relay for Life in my home town of Methuen. It was a spectacular event. Those of you not familiar with Relay for Life. It is an event sponsered by the American Cancer Society to raise money. People get together in a team and must walk around a track overnight. There should be at least one team member on the track at all times. Methuen's Relay for life raised $213,298.76 there were 76 teams and 954 participants.

"Tooth Day" at Fenway Park

Yesterday I had the distinct pleasure of participating in Tooth Day at Fenway Park. Tooth Day was started by Dr. Heidi Aaronson. It is a day dedicated to educating the public about the dangers of chewing tobacco and to offer free oral cancer screenings to fans before the game. Tufts University School of Dental Medicine donated the toothbrushes, toothpaste, and handouts that were given to the fans.

It is important that everyone visit their dentist at least twice a year for their routine oral check up and oral cancer exam. Even if you are not at risk for oral cancer you can still fall victim to it. Using any kind of tobacco and alcohol puts you at a higher risk for oral cancer, which is why it is important especially for these people that they have routine oral exams.

Being a part of Tooth Day at Fenway Park was a truly wonderful experience. I met a lot of wonderful people and even had the chance to see some people I haven't seen in 5 years. It was a great honor to also be a part of the opening ceremony. This is a day I will always remember.

Support to our local farmers

Yesterday I went to the Pleasant Valley Garden Center to show my support to our local farmers. I know its a small thing but I wish everyone would try to make the effort to by their plants and vegetables from their local farms. You don't get anymore organic then this. Our farmers need our support so they can continue to provide us with fresh, healthy, chemicl free fruits and veggies that are so much better for our families.

I met the owners of the garden center and they were just the nicest people. Every customer that entered was greated with a warm welcome and received the help that they needed. The staff was extremely knowledgable and could answer any question posed to them. I can see why so many people would choose to pay a little bit more for better service, I certainly would.

I had a great time yesterday talking to everyone about what they were going to grow in their own gardens and I also learned a little bit about gardening myself.

Do Onto Others...

Do onto others as you would have done onto yourself. I have always tried to live my life by this motto. Unfortunately not everyone else does. I think that if people stopped to think how hurtful their actions may be to someone then there would be less crime and violence in this world. Before I act I always try to think that if what I am doing will hurt someone else.
I am not perfect, and I have unintentionally hurt people in my life, but when I do I always apologize and try to make it right. I wish others would make an effort to do the same. If you hurt someone recognize it and apologize, this will go a long way even if that person does not accept your apology immediately.
So remember to think of others before you think of yourselves and you will be happy because of it.

I am truly excited to be representing the married women of Massachusetts this year. I would like to begin by giving you a little information about myself. I attended Merrimack College in North Andover Massachusetts where I graduated cum laude with a BS in Health Science. From there I attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and received my DMD degree. I currently practices general dentistry in Methuen, Massachusetts. I am an appointed member of the Council of Dental Education for the Massachusetts Dental Society.

Aside from my dentistry I serve as the Assistant Artistic Director for the Methuen Ballet Ensemble where I also holds the role of principal dancer. Taking on the vision of the company’s founder, I firmly believes in the mission of the company which is to create an opportunity for young people to showcase their talents and not turn anyone away who presents with the desire to commit.

While a student a Tufts Dental School, I participated in “Smile Share and Care,” a pediatric outreach program to the children of the Boston China Town YMCA. Here is where I learned that there was a great need to educate the youth about the importance of their oral health. Now, I am hoping to capitalize on my title of Mrs. Massachusetts to educate the public about the importance of oral health for overall health.
